Thanks again to Jacques Pepin, I learned how to make beer batter. 3/4 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 egg yolk, 1 cup of high quality craft beer, organic chives. Add sugar to mixture as well. The batter should be thick, and not too runny, otherwise it will not fry well. Adjust thickness by adding flour.
